From the review: "Love & Friendship may best resemble Whitman's 1990 debut, Metropolitan. In that film, a bunch of rich people yapped and sighed and meddled in each others' affairs of the heart... Our hero is Lady Susan (Kate Beckinsale), a young widow with dwindling assets but still enough standing that she can call on friends and relatives and still be received. She keeps an insolvent friend around to pack and unpack things, and to act as a confident when no one more high-born is available. Lady Susan is a sharp-tongued pistol, and you never quite can tell if she is aware at how preposterous her proclamations sound. 'Facts are horrid things!' she sighs when caught in a lie, and she has a bit of a point. Everyone would be a little bit happier if they just listened to her advice."

Hell everyone should just be happier watching Kate...
